Aims and Objectives

  1. To give people who prefer peace an opportunity to express that preference.
  2. To demonstrate our concern over the constant, on-going and unnecessary suffering of the people of Iraq.
  3. To draw attention to and protest the fact that Iraq has been occupied by foreign troops for five years; that there are 600,000 civilian casualties and 4,000,000 refugees as a consequence.
  4. To send a message to President Bush (and representatives of the American Government in Australia) directly from Australian people - without it being filtered through the official Government channels.
  5. To broaden opposition to belligerent government policies generally.
  6. To increase awareness of and participation in the demonstrations planned by the Stop The War Coalition and the Sydney Coalition for Justice and Peace for Sunday 16th March.
