Aims and Objectives
- To give people who prefer peace an opportunity to express that preference.
- To demonstrate our concern over the constant, on-going and unnecessary suffering of the people of Iraq.
- To draw attention to and protest the fact that Iraq has been occupied by foreign troops for five years; that there are 600,000 civilian casualties and 4,000,000 refugees as a consequence.
- To send a message to President Bush (and representatives of the American Government in Australia) directly from Australian people - without it being filtered through the official Government channels.
- To broaden opposition to belligerent government policies generally.
- To increase awareness of and participation in the demonstrations planned by the Stop The War Coalition and the Sydney Coalition for Justice and Peace for Sunday 16th March.
